Urban Vybe is much more than a yoga studio. The facility also offers a variety of combination cardio and strength training classes and even organizes adventure fitness retreats keeping clients coming back for more.

Urban Vybe is not your typical yoga studio. Although yoga classes are the core offering at the Flower Mound facility, a number of cardio and strength training classes are favorites among clients. Students can participate in a combo spinning/weight lifting class, try the 45 minute high intensity workout known as Evolution Quick Train, or get introduced to sky aerial yoga. Urban Vybe’s co-owner, Jo Stokes, knows that mixing things up is important to keep fitness enthusiasts motivated and coming back for more.

“Urban Vybe has something for everyone,” she says. “We believe that variety is the spice of life and we all need (it) to keep us excited about coming to classes, along with preventing burn-out or plateauing. We offer a wide variety of classes to choose from as well as special programs for kids, teens, and adults, all in a smaller, more personalized setting.”

All of the classes are held in a small group setting, which Stokes says brings people together and creates community. Besides being highly experienced in the latest fitness trends, all of Urban Vybe’s handpicked instructors are friendly, supportive, and make an effort to get to know their clients. “There is nothing like feeling that you are an important part of something and that those in the group are there to love and support you,” she explains. “We strive to develop personal relationships with all our members who we consider to be more than just clients but also friends.”

Preventing injury is also a priority at the fitness studio. All instructors are certified, educated, and trained to lead participants through classes while demonstrating the correct form and techniques and adapting poses and moves for one’s personal limitations.

Some of the most popular classes include Small Group Evolution Training, Kardio Barre, Boxing Pilates, Urban Challenge Boot Camp, and Power Yoga. Through the use of one’s body weight, hand weights, barbells, weighted balls and a Bodhi suspension training system, students can tone their bodies and build strength. “In addition, our super popular Aerial Yoga and Aerial Dance classes are loaded with strengthening moves/postures to condition and tone your body while decompressing your spine & joints,” says Stokes. “Our members love to hang upside down allowing them to practice yoga in a completely new way!”

Another unique way in which Urban Vybe is standing out from its competition is by offering Urban Vybe adventures — fitness and relaxation retreats to destination resorts in Costa Rica, Sedona, and Belize. Each travel package includes airfare, transportation, accommodations, meals, and more. On an Urban Vybe Adventure, travelers can expect a variety of activities from ziplining through the rainforest to learning stand-up paddle boarding.

“In addition to all the fun activities, we offer life coaching and goal setting sessions, outdoor morning meditation classes, and we personally select super healthy, plant based menu options to help everyone learn how to eat healthy even while on vacation,” says Stokes. “Going on a vacation does not have to mean that you come back more stressed out and 10 pounds heavier!”

Several memberships and class packages are available, making it easy and economical for the studio’s clients to get their “vybe” on and have fun while doing so.
