Military-type boot camp exercises are all the rage because they are metabolism-boosting, fat-burning, muscle-building exercise programs that are fast-paced and fun. Boot camp style exercise programs build strength, endurance, and agility, and, believe it or not, you may recognize many of the exercises from elementary school gym class, such as push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and squats. What are Boot Camp Workouts?

Although there are numerous variations regarding boot camp workout programs, they tend to be an intense exercise experience that include a combination of strength training and aerobic exercises. Boot camp exercise classes usually incorporate military-style drills with calisthenics and can consist of:

  • Pushups
  • Crunches
  • Lunges
  • Squats
  • Mountain climbers
  • Step-ups
  • Drills
  • Sprints
  • Interval training
  • And so much more

Why Boot Camp?

Not only does a boot camp exercise program burn more calories in less time; build strength, endurance, and agility; firm you up and help you lose weight; they also help build confidence; and simply put, they are fun. Other benefits include:

Is Boot Camp for Everyone?

If you are healthy and strong (or want to be strong) and are looking for a more intense workout, it is possible that boot camp is for you. However, for those not used to exercising, over the age of 40, pregnant, or have certain health conditions, we highly recommend checking with your physician before signing up for boot camp or any new exercise program.
